Fallen eagles

I stumbled across a book called fallen eagles during our research and have been unsure on how to fit it into this blog for a while now. What the book tells us is that the Berwyn is a very difficult place to navigate by air, with fierce dawn-draughts and very unpredictable weather. The book itself got us thinking about the witnesses first thoughts of a plane crash being the cause of the bang and earthquake. We plan to go into more detail on the plane crash theory in a later blog, below is a small list taken from the book of the plane crashes that occurred on the Berwyn.

15.12.42 Westland Lysander. TI655 61OTU Struck Cadier Bronwen searching for lost spitfire. Caught in down-drought. Pilot killed.

18.01.46 Vickers Wellington. LR125 170TU Dived out of control over Hendwr near Llandrillo after pitot head froze up. crew of 5 killed - the phantom bomber?

14.12.42 Submarine spitfire. P7295 61OTU Flew into Cadair Bronwen in bad visibility. Pilot killed.

12.02.82 Hawker Siddeley Harrier GR.3 XZ973 2330CU Flew into Moel Sych in cloud. Pilot killed.

15.11.42 Airspeed Oxford. BM824 11(P)AFU Flew into Moel Sych in cloud. 2 of 3 crew survived.

07.09.41 Avro Anson N9617. 10OTU Struck Moel Sych in cloud. 1 killed 4 survived.

18.04.66 De Havilland Vampire. 5C-YA. Austrian AF. Test flight. Crashed into Mynydd Tarw due to equipment failure. Crew of 2 killed.

Only the brave witness true freedom.

Thank you Edward Doylerush for writing the only book I have ever finished.
